Day 1

  • 07h30 Leave Quito
  • 13h00 Arrive to Quininde
    • Lunch on the way in the city of Quinindé
  • 13h30 Exit to the enclosure (the “Y” of Cube) in the same transport or in Rancher
  • 15h30 In the “Y” of Cube we will take a local van to get to “Yessita” and from the Yessita Community you will walk 1.5 km to the Station
  • 17h30 Arrival at biological station
  • 19h00 Dinner
  • 20h00 Orientation talk / introduction of Bilsa Biological Station
  • 22h00 Rest

Day 2

  • 07h30 Breakfast
  • 08h30 Visit to primary forest where we encounter a huge variety of flora and fauna.
    • Elaboration of transects, transect division with the participants
  • 12h00 Lunch
  • 14h00 Continue with study of species in primary forest of Bilsa
  • 17h00 Return to station
  • 19h00 Dinner
  • 20h00 Night walk (observation of amphibians and reptiles)
  • 22h00 Rest

Day 3

  • 07h30 Breakfast
  • 08h30 Leave for excursion to primary forest (Cloud forest ecosystem in mountains) Waterfalls – Trails – secondary forest – endemic species birds, mammals, reptiles
    • Box lunch in the mountains
    • Return to station
  • 19h00 Dinner at station
  • 20h00 Bonfire
  • 22h00 Rest

Day 4

  • 07h00 Lunch
  • 08h00 Visit of Cube lagoon
  • 11h00 Leave for city of Quinindé
  • 13h00 Lunch on the way, Quinindé
  • 14h00 Leave for way back to Quito
  • 19h00 Arrival in Quito
